Flat tires never come at the right time. Maybe you’re on your way to an appointment or to pick up your children from school. Sometimes it’s not the chronological time, but the time when you can least afford it. Believe us, we know how much new tires cost, so that’s why we also offer tire repairs and other tire services. However, some flat tires cannot be fixed. Let’s look at which can and which can’t.
Whether your tire can be repaired or not depends on where the puncture is, i.e., where the air is escaping. If you drove over a nail in the road, and the resulting puncture is less than a quarter of an inch in diameter and limited to the middle or crown area of the tires’ rolling service, it can probably be repaired. This area is the center portion of the tread, one to one and a half inches from the shoulders, or in other words, the area surrounding the major groove in the center. However, if you hit a particularly vicious pothole or in your haste to find a parking space, cut a corner too soon, and glanced off or hit a curb, you may have done irreparable damage to the tire. You can judge this for yourself if you see a bubble or noticeable bulge in the tire’s sidewall.
The technician will approach the job of restoring your tire to road-ready condition in a methodical manner, following these steps:
